Ingredients

  1. 1 pound bacon, reduce into 1-inch portions
  2. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  3. 1 pound dry black-eyed peas
  4. 1 cup water
  5. 5 cups chook broth
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. half teaspoon dried oregano
  8. 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  9. half of teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, or to flavor

Directions

Rinse black-eyed peas and set them apart.

Turn on a multi-practical pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and choose Saute function. Add bacon; cook and stir till bacon is flippantly browned, approximately 10 mins. Stir in minced garlic; cook dinner until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add rinsed black-eyed peas, water, and bird broth to the pot; stir to mix. Select Cancel.

Close and lock the lid. Select excessive pressure in step with producer’s commands; set timer for 30 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for strain to build.

Release stress using the herbal-launch technique consistent with producer’s commands, 10 to forty mins. Remove the lid, and add garlic powder, oregano, dill and black pepper. Fluff the combination and serve.
