- baking spray with flour
- 2 ½ cups all-motive flour
- 3 tablespoons strawberry-flavored gelatin, inclusive of Jell-O (from 1 (three ounce) package)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- three huge eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups entire buttermilk
Frosting
- 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- four cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream, or greater as needed
Crumble
- 25 golden Oreo cookies
- ⅔ cup freeze-dried strawberries
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 levels F (175 levels C). Coat 2 (eight-inch) round cake pans with baking spray with flour and line bottoms with parchment.
To make the cake: Whisk flour, gelatin, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together in a bowl.
Beat butter at medium pace until creamy, 2 to 3 mins in the bowl of a stand mixer geared up with the paddle attachment. Gradually add sugar, beating until mild and fluffy, approximately 3 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating on low velocity and scraping down aspects of bowl as wished, until simply blended. Beat in vanilla.

Add flour combination in three additions alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour aggregate and beating on low speed just till mixed after each addition. Divide batter flippantly between organized pans.
Bake inside the preheated oven till a wood select inserted in center comes out clean, approximately 40 mins.

Cool in pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes; remove cakes from pans and funky completely on a wire rack, 1 to at least one ½ hours.
To make the frosting: Add butter and salt to the bowl of a stand mixer geared up with the paddle attachment. Beat on medium velocity until creamy, about 3 mins. Beat in vanilla.
Gradually upload powdered sugar, alternately with cream, beating on low speed till absolutely incorporated and smooth. Increase mixer pace to medium-excessive and beat until smooth and fluffy, 2 to a few mins.

To make the collapse combination: Place cookies, strawberries, and salt in a food processor and pulse till barely chunky (bits of strawberry and cookie must still be visible), approximately 12 pulses. Drizzle in butter and pulse about five instances to combine.

Place 1 cake layer on serving platter; unfold calmly with 1 cup frosting. Top with last cake layer.
